How Motability Works

Since 1977 Motability has been working with the motor industry to enable disabled people to get mobile by exchanging their mobility allowance for a new car, approved and funded by the government.

Broad Oak Motor group are proud to support the Motability scheme in Kent, with a variety of brands to choose from, our specialised Motability team are on hand to help find the most suitable car for you.

To be eligible to join the Motability scheme, you need to receive one of the below allowances and you must have at least 12 months’ award length remaining:

  • Higher rate Mobility component of Disability Living allowance (HRMC DLA)
  • Enhanced rate mobility component of personal independence payment (ERMC PIP)
  • War pensioners’ mobility supplement (WPMS)
  • Armed forces independence payment (AFIP)

With a brand new vehicle every 3 years, our Motability team will follow up throughout to check that all maintenance on the vehicle is taken care of and we will also contact you just before your lease ends and invite you in to come back in and choose a new one.
